Honeywell Enviracaire Model 60000Stupid warning labels. Why are there so many? Are we (humans) really that stupid? Ugh. On my latest purchase (pictured), number 6 in the instructions, it actually says, "Do not use air purifier outdoors." Are they for real? You mean this little gadget won't clean the whole world's air? Aw, c'mon!

If there are people who need this type of warning, we're in serious trouble. (or are we? heh)

Sleep sleep sleep. Never enough. Somehow I'm supposed to function with almost no sleep for 2 days. Hard to fake being awake. Most people are kind enough (yea right) to point out just how tired I look. (Brilliant! Figure that out all by yourself? Gee, thanks! I wasn't sure why I felt so shitty! Thank you for pointing out the obvious!) Ugh. I don't function well in general, but usually I can fake it enough to get by. Not doing so good at faking it right now. And then there's the headaches.
*sigh*

cross section Green roofs? I read about this in a magazine (one I don't happen to like  anymore. They're playing musical editors, and can't seem to stick to one  manner of reporting, so once the subscription is over, seeya! What a  shame too, I did like the original format and writing). Green roofs seem to  be popping up in spots in the northwest and west coastal areas. Roofs  being touted as the "The Last Urban Frontier." Yeah, well, when you overpopulated the world and pave everything green to make room, all we're going to be left with are rooftops and preserved land.

In a way, I think it's a good idea. Especially for businesses. It's a good way for them to give back a little of what they've taken. Some google'd images can be found here. I wonder what this does to the insect population in the average household with a green roof, and how many injuries are caused by trying to maintain one. I know I wouldn't want it on my roof. Maybe on a shed.

It's more expensive to do (of course) but there are many reasons why it's worth the costs. Among them, saving money on your heating/cooling bills, and extending the life of your roof. But you can do all that in a less costly manner by better insulating and sealing your current roof (or by making sure your contractor does). So basically, you kind of have to want to ("be green" and) do your part to save the environment (to do this to your own personal dwelling). Might also want to be sure you're not planning on moving anytime soon.

Ahh...but imagine taking your daily (ho hum) coffee breaks in the middle of what looks like the garden of Eden. Might reduce stress levels of those highstrung coworkers (and possibly increase absences due to allergies). Hm. I wonder if these will start showing up in my part of the world.

Pretty, but...
....why? When someone who couldn't care less about your existence  gives you flowers, wouldn't you wonder why? Is it habit? Do they think  these make up for years of unforgivable behavior? (they don't!) They  are beautiful. If only they didn't make me feel so ugly.

How to take advantage of a day off....that was the question. Original? No. Of course not. But every time there is one, I always want to do *everything*. Ok, that's unrealistic I guess. But there's so many things I don't allow myself to do, to enjoy. A movie. Ten minutes of music. (heaven forbid I feel good for a few minutes, depending on the music I'd choose). An actual Friday off though, such potential. Had to resist the urge to clean. Always get these cleaning binges when I'm depressed. If only they made a difference. (all the times I'm depressed my house should be fucking spotless! But its nowhere near that). Ugh.

Watching depressing movies when one is on the verge of spiraling is *not* a good idea. Of course, if you have no idea (you were on the verge, surprise! and no idea) what the movie you're about to watch is about, you kind of deserve what you get. Yea. And so it goes. At least one had some pretty cool lines. ("We're in the United States of Depression"....Yes admit it, "we're a Prozac Nation." Gee, which movie did I watch? ahem.)

Since I'm on roll (or spiral, whee!) I might as well watch another. Free day. Even a decently sunny (no, I like it gray actually, and cool, not stuffy and bright and warm like the normal people like it) day. Did I do anything practical? Probably not. Why do most days feel like a waste?

Sometimes they're not. Those few precious days are still a long time away. Can you predict your own good days? Sometimes I can. (maybe that's the problem. nothing can compare...)
